Hubert Webb was released from jail, and six more others
"The prosecution failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt the guilt of the accused," court administrator and spokesman Jose Midas Marquez said earlier this day.Hubert Webb and six more others who were found guilty has been acquitted by the supreme court as their final verdict today, December 14, 2010.
This breaking news really has became the talk of the town, since the Vizconde massacre had became very popular many years ago because Hubert is the son of the former senator Freddie Webb.
As we can recall, Vizconde massacre case is where Carmella Vizconde were murdered. The 19-year-old Carmela was reportedly and proven to had been raped before being murdered along with her mother Estrellita and the then seven-year-old sister Jennifer in their home at ParaƱaque city on June 29, 1991.
But from the start, Hubert Webb's camp plead not guilty, appealing that he was not on the country on the time the murder was happen. His video showing that he is on the other country is his camp's most public proof aside from documents.
But fifteen years ago, Hubert Webb, the son of former senator Freddie Webb, was proven guilty with his six friends on the same case. But after being locked for fifteen years, the supreme court ruled out that Hubert Webb, with his co-accused were acquitted and were ordered to be release as soon as possible.
The media men feasted the news as they occupied the Webb's house with their video cameras and reporters. This of course became an instant head liner on all Philippines news channels. And will surely be the headlines of tomorrow's newspapers.
The Supreme Court, voted 7-4 with four other justice members voted abstain, the highest court of the country, the supreme court had acquitted Hubert Webb and six others who were charged with the murder of Estrellita Vizconde and her daughters, Carmela and Jennifer, in the year 1991.
Of course, the Webbs were all happy with the final outcome of the case which they have fought for years. This is as others said the best Christmas gift the family has ever received. Freddie Webb and his wife took a lot of interviews to let the public know that they are really happy that the truth had came out, finally.
On the other side, the only person left of the Vizconde family, Lauro Vizconde said: "Walang katarungan sa bansa natin," ("There's no justice in our country."), who almost lost consciousness as he was grasping for words upon learning about the supreme court's final verdict.
Just when others are complaining that justice on the Philippines is very slow, to Mr. Visconde, the husband and father of the victims, there are really no justice to start with.
Author's note:
This is an unbiased article about the controversial news. The author never claim sides since he has no complete knowledge or ability to weigh the case. The author doesn't know if Hubert and his six more friends really are guilty. What the author knew is that there are real victims as there are real killer/s. But the murderer/s will surely answer for their doing on the right time.
and we're not talking about money here yet.
magkano kaya ang bayaran noh?
10M each daw, and the family really spent on this just to end the case. pati daw yung mga nag-no and nag-abstain eh kasali sa bayaran. everything is really just an act. there's even a rumor that the Webs paid a tv network just to get interviewed before the verdict to condition the mind of the people.

I saw the documentation from tv5 and it seems that the Webb doesn't have any participation for the murder, but the thing is, the accused and their families are the only person who were interviewed. No single person was interviewed from the real victims on that documentation. this is really very disappointing.
ReplyDeleteit so obvious that the whole program was biased.
no one knows kung me kasalanan b cla hubert o wla,its only god and the victims... i hope n sna lng tama ang sc s desisyon nila...sn mhuli n ung totoong me kslanan
ReplyDeletein this controversial Released of Hubert Webb and his co-accusal of Vizconde Massacre case were bias not only to the husband of Estrellita Vizconde and the father of Carmela and Jennifer but also to thus victims na nakaranas ng kawalan ng hustisya lalo na ang nakalaban nila ay yung may ma.influencya na pamilya sa malalaking opisyal ng GoByerno...What would be the steps of the government and to thus concern people to have fair justice and no bias to both parties...this must be answered,we must not tolerate them, kaysa mayaman sila at may kapangyarihan eh di na sila mananagot sa batas...ano ba ang silbi ng batas kung yung nasa high courts na may kapangyarihan na maghusga eh nawawalan na na integridad...pano namn dahilan cguro sa UTANG NA LOOB...o maybe binayaran...mas apllicable pa yata ang batas dun sa mga mahihirap na magnanakaw...at di na practice sa MAGnaNAKAW na MAY maTaas na Posisyun...may araw din sila..
