At 4:00 p.m. today, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon "LAWIN" (JELAWAT) was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 390 kilometers East of Catarman, Northern Samar (12.3°N, 128.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kilometers per hour. It is forecast to move north northwest at 7 kilometers per hour.
