Anonymous Hacktivists Target Sotto's Website

Anonymous hacktivists, both international and local had announced on their twitter accounts that they've been eyeing Senator Tito Sotto's website as their next target.

The hackers said that the upcoming attack to Tito Sotto's website is one of the biggest Internet attacks in Philippine history dubbed as "#OpPhilippines" that began early this morning, October 03, 2012.

Why Sotto?

Nope, this may not be a subjective matters over his "you're nothing but a second grade copy-paste" planks. The attacks may have because of the Republic Act No. 10175 that may send an erring Internet user to prison for up to 17 years, in which the senate credit Sotto for it.

Some of the methods that were used by the hackers were distributed denial of service (DDOS), botnet, and http flooding. To prove it, hackers posted screenshots of defaced websites.

The Palace's websites gov.ph and president.gov.ph was said to have been firewalled from the attacks as they are using Cloudflare content delivery network and domain name server service to proof them from DDOS attacks.

Meanwhile, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima ordered the NBI to hunt down the hacktivists.

As of posting time, the attack is still on-going.
