What suppose to be a decent exchange of logical points in the race on Mayorial position in Manila had turned to an ugly exchange of grudges between the two.
Estrada pointed out that Lim had betrayed him after Lim sided to those who ousted him from presidency. Lim is the Secretary of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), which Erap said he appointed him out of pity after Lim looses to him on the presidential election on 1998.
"Nung nagkakagulo sa Malacanang, nagpaalam sa akin 'Sir, lalabas na ako at aayusin ko yung mga pulis.' Baka makapasok dito [ang mga raliyista]. Ang ginawa niya dire-derecho siya sa EDSA Dos at ako'y iniwan. Iniwan ako," - Estrada said on the television.
Erap however said that he alread forgave Lim after the latter visited him in his resthouse in 2004. According to Erap, Lim cried so much that his handckerchief soaked wet.
"E bakit nung 2005, pumunta siya sa Tanay binisita ako at umiiyak pa. Umiiyak. Ang daming testigo nun. Patawarin daw siya sa pagkakamali niya, patawarin, patawarin. Tapos, umiiyak. Sobra iyak. Basang basa na yung panyo niya. Sabi ko tapos na yan. Natapos na iyan. E hindi na natin maibabalik yan. Tapos umiiyak pa rin. Tapos nakiusap 'Sir, pwede ba ako makasama sa lineup ni FPJ?'" -Estrada narrated.
Estrada said that after Lim cried, he asked if he can be included on the senatorial lineup of Fernando Poe Jr.
The allegation however was directly denied by Lim, saying that he will never cry in front of Estrada, in which he called him liar and a criminal.
Another point that was raised is about their birth certificate where Estrada first said that he is a genuine Tondo born and challenge if Lim can prove that he is really born in Manila. Lim charged back and ask Estrada to back out from the Mayorial election if he can present his birth certificate to prove that he was born on Manila.
And if you think that it cannot be dirtier, the talk was derailed more after their sons was tagged.
Estrada recited that Lim's son was caught by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) by selling drugs. Erap stressed that Lim's son was not jailed after charge against him was dropped.
Lim threw back the son's issue after saying that Erap's son was arrested after physically abusing a woman because of drugs issue.
The whole carnival-like show was made noisier after both supporters shouted on each other's points.
Well, if they do things like this on the future, we hope that there will be no live audience. Also both parties should only answer common questions.
What happen here is that everyone looses, both of them, as well as the Filipino masses.
