It's official ! Derek Ramsay transfer to TV5 network has been confirmed by ABS-CBN themselves.
To make all rumors to facts, Bong Osorio, the head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications had made a press statement that confirmed that one of their talent did indeed decided to move.
The decision however came from Derek Ramsay himself.
Osorio said that efforts have been done to make Ramsay stay on the Kapamilya network for months. Derek Ramsay's contract on ABS-CBN had expired at the end of February of the current year.
Ramsay, when asked by the media about the offer abs-cbn made to make him stay - Derek confirmed that channel 2 indeed exerted efforts to keep him.
“Nakita na namin ‘yung offer. I think they’re exchanging e-mails now. My parents, my dad just sent an e-mail to Sir Gabby (Lopez), and nag-uusap usap na,” Ramsay said at the time. “Yung mga little details, sila nag-aayos eh, so I’m just waiting for that phone call na.” - Ramsay said on an interview.
Derek Ramsay transfer to TV5 is the latest ABS-CBN's talent who had moved to the number three network on the country after the Megastar Sharon Cuneta who had moved last year with the offer of one billion pesos for a five year contract.
Other celebrities who had decided to make the brave jump were Willie Revillame, Mariel Rodriguez and Aga Mulach.
We believe that the abs-cbn knew the movement game after they had lured other talents like Iza Calzado, Janice de Belen, Richard Gomez and Carmina Villaroel from GMA7.
Yesterday, April 2, 2012, Derek had tweeted that he is taking a one week break in Australia.
Rumors said that TV5 will make him to host the upcoming "Amazing Race" - Philippine version.
