As much as we would also like it to be. Malacanang had not issued and statement making the said day as a non-working holiday.
Pinoy had expected the announcement because they have been used from Gloria's administration where holidays are normally moved to the nearest weekend for practicality purpose. April 8, 2013 had been sandwich from a weekend and a regular holiday on April 9, 2013 - Day of Valor or Araw ng Kagitingan.
However, the said practice was not observed during President Benigno Aquino III time.

There are many things that we do not want about Gloria to the point that we want to see her behind bars, but moving the holidays to the nearest weekend is the only thing we want about her.
This is for practicality purpose. One is that employees may have more time for themselves, which could make them more productive at work. Second is that the company may save expenses because company resources were not maximized because of having few employees.
The so-called economic holiday was not practiced anymore, and it is sad.
