Indian National (Bumbay) Kidnapped By Abu Sayyaf
MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) -- Philippine terrorist group Abu Sayyaf kidnapped an Indian national in southern Philippines, local police reported today,. June 23, 2011.According to director Felicisimo Khu, chief of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Western Mindanao, the victim's name is Biju Kolara Veettil. an Indian national, 36 years old, who is married to a Filipina Elena Ladiamuddin Asanji. Police can not still verified the motive behind the kidnapping.
Khu alleged Abu Sayyaf members abducted Veettil last Wednesday night in Patikul town, Sulu province. According to intelligence report, the victim was brought in Tugas village, also in Patikul town. The kidnapping was led by Abu Sayyaf known leader Jurim Hussin. Other members of the Abu Sayyaf group that took part in the kidnapping were identified as Ninok Sappari, Mamih Samlahun, Almudjir Yadah, and Namil Aharadji, alias Gapas. Other accessories of the crime weren't identified yet.
Local police said the group was also responsible for the May 7 kidnapping of Filipino-Chinese businessman Nelson Lim.
Police force is on hunt mission to recover the victim which was missing since Wednesday.
