Bagyong Ambo Update
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) had released a satellite image of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) that was spotted active inside Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
The low pressure area has been creating weather disturbance on southern Mindanao and threatening the suppose to be summer season of the country.
Below is the weather bulletin released by PAGASA.
A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 860 kilometers East of General Santos City (5.8°N, 133.0°E)while wind convergence affecting Eastern Visayas.
These weather systems will bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas and Mindanao becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Eastern and Southern Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Meanwhile, the office of the president of the Philippines had released a weather advisory for the period of January 2-9, 2012 as administered by PAGASA. This weather forecast cannot be found on PAGASA update but was only released by the Philippines' official gazette.
January 2: Light to moderate rains is expected in the Visayas, northern Mindanao (Surigao-Misamis Oriental strip), and Zamboanga peninsula during daytime.
January 3: Bicol and Visayas will experience light to moderate rains. Approaching rain will come from the offshore area, south-southeast of Mindanao.
January 4: Light to moderate rains in Bicol, Samar-Leyte, and eastern Mindanao
January 5: Heavy rains in eastern Mindanao encompassing Surigao provinces—Compostela Valley—Davao Oriental, Pujada Peninsula area
January 6: Heavy rains in the Saranggani, Sultan Kudarat, and South Cotabato areas; Bicol-Palawan strip light to moderate rains
January 7: Light to moderate rains in Bicol and Visayas
January 8: Eastern Mindanao will receive moderate to heavy rains.
January 9: Surigao will experience heavy rains.
At of press time, PAGASA however said that there is no tropical cyclone inside PAR yet. However, the active low pressure area below Mindanao will be called Bagyong Ambo.

WEATHER UPDATES:
At 4:00 a.m. today, June 1, 2012, Tropical Depression "AMBO" was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 260 kilometers Northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar (13.4°N, 127.3°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center. It is forecast to move northwest at 17 kilometers per hour.
