Bagyong Amang Also Welcomes Pope Francis

It seems like Pope Francis was not welcomed by the top government and top Catholic officials alone as Amang made its way to the Philippines, specifically at the Visayas and Mindanao areas where the Pope had its itinerary.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and was located 905 kilometers east of Guiuan in Eastern Samar as of January 15, 2015. The said low pressure area is likely to become a typhoon as announced by PAGASA weather forecaster Alvin Pura.

"The movement of the cyclone is being influenced by the strength of the northeast monsoon or amihan. If the amihan weakens, it could create a passage where the cyclone can pass through northward or away from the country. But if it re-intensifies, it could block the path of the cyclone, making way for its possible landfall in the country. As of the moment, the northeast monsoon is weak but it is expected to re-intensify by weekend,” - the weather forecaster said.

The Catholic faith's head even had a taste of Amang after his cape went atop of his head during his arrival on the Villamor Airbase, Philippines.
Meanwhile, thousands of Catholic Filipinos are praying for a good weather for the Pope's visit.
