Senate Wants JunJun Binay's Arrest

The Senate Blue Ribbon sub-committee through Koko Pimentel has been recommending the arrest of Makati Mayor Junjun Binay and other six personalities after they repeatedly ignore the hearing of the senate regarding the alleged overpriced Makati Science High School building.

With this, Teofisto Guingona, the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chairman, had appealed on the Makati mayor and to the other six personalities to face the senate hearing to avoid complications.

"ginagawa ko ang huling panawagang ito sa pagnanais na maiwasan ang isang sitwasyon na kakailanganin nang Blue Ribbon Committee na maglabas ng utos para sa pag-aresto kay Mayor Binay at mga kasama niya." - the senator warns.

The senate blue ribbon committee chairman said that the six officials should not ignore the senate investigation as the body has the power to issue for their arrest.

"Hindi maaaring hayaan ng committee ang patuloy na paglabag sa ganitong utos. Nasa kapangyarihan ng committee na ipag-utos ang pag-aresto at pagkukulong sa mga taong lumalabag dito."

Aside from the Makati Mayor Junjun Binay, the other six officials that were invited to the senate hearing are:
1.) Tomas Lopez - University of Makati professor
2.) Ebeng Baloloy - Vice President Jejomar Binay's staff
3.) Marjorie De Veyra - Makati administrator
4.) Attorney Eleno Mendoza - Makati administrator
5.) Line Dela Peña - Makati engineer
6.) Bernadettte Portollano - Corporate secretary of Omni Security, contractor of 300 milion worth of Makati City projects.

The invited personalities camp said that they do not recognize the authority of the senate blue ribbon subcommitte to make the investigation that is why they are not attending the said hearing.
