July 2012 Tropical Storm Gener


The active Low Pressure Area (LPA) within Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) had developed in a tropical storm according to PAGASA today.
At 4:00 p.m. today, July 28, 2012, tropical storm " GENER " was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 250 kilometers northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (15.4°N, 126.3°E). Maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. Forecast to move north northwest at 15 kilometers per hour.

Maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near center and gustiness of up to 100 kilometers per hour. Forecast to move North Northwest at 15 kilometers per hour.

At 4:00 am today, August 1, 2012, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the eye of Typhoon "GENER" was located based on satellite images and surface data at 270 kilometers Northeast of Basco, Batanes (22.6°N, 123.7°E). Maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kilometers per hour. It is forecast to move North at 7 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, a low pressure area (LPA) was estimated at 270 kilometers Northwest of Laoag City (20.4°N, 118.5°E).
