Renato Corona Attended The Impeachement Trial With Wife And Midas Marquez

This is a little different than what we had before on the time of the former President Joseph Estrada's impeachment trial.

Renato Corona was seen on the first day of the impeachment trial, together with his wife and Supereme Court spokesperson Midas Marquez.

Being there, Renato Corona had personally heard the heart breaking arguments from the prosecution panel. On the first day of the impeachment trial, the prosecution lawyers had stated

• that Corona was deeply indebted to Mrs. Arroyo and granted her favor by issuing a temporary restraining order allowing her to travel abroad;
• that he intervened in the impeachment against former Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez, again to protect Arroyo;
• that he amassed ill-gotten wealth after he was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2002;
• that he failed to account for the Judiciary Development Fund (JDF) and the special allowance for the judiciary fund (SAJ);
• lack of moral fitness by committing acts of impropriety involving parties with pending cases in the Supreme Court.

Renato Corona had shown himself on the impeachment trial and looks like high-spirited. But some are asking on until when he intends to attend the impeachment trial. Is he really planning to personally supervise his counsels until the end of the trial?

The impeachment trial of Renato Corona was set to be heard in a maximum of six months.

The senators as the impeachment body wearing a bright pink had first denied the motion for preliminary hearing from Corona's camp which leads the impeachment trial to proceed. The impeachment trial Presiding Judge and Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile had ruled to allow the trial to proceed and hear all the allegation from the prosecution.
