Road Crash On Biliran, Tacloban City
A road crash on Biliran, Tacloban City left fourteen dead and injured ten others.
A rushing dump truck was reported to have lost its breaks and fell sideways near the mountain village of Caibiran, Biliran last Saturday, July 21, 2012.
According to a traffic investigator of national police in Biliran, Police Officer 1 Noel Nievera, the victims were mourners from Barangay VIlla Caneja and the truck is going to Caibiran town when the accident happened on around 8:30 in the evening.
Provincial police spokesman Chief Inspector Wilfredo Gervacio said the the first thirteen victims died instantly after being crushed in the incident while the other one died on the hospital, totalling to fourteen dead body.
The victims who died on the sport were identified as: Honoria Regir, Lolita Gahum, Darwin Sales, Salita Rosite, Anthony Monte, Janet Rosite, Marianito Areglo, Jolita Narido, Renato Escoses, Lito Quinto, Jonalyn Rosite, Josephine Rosite and Manilyn Rosite. The one who died on the hospital while being treated at the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC) is Jennifer Caliao.
What happened ?
“The driver, Antonio Rosite was negotiating a downhill slope in Sitio Atay, Barangay Cabibihan in Caibiran when the brake exploded. The truck skidded and some of the passengers jumped out of the vehicle,” - PO1 Nierva said on an interview.
All survivors suffered from various injuries and currently being treated on different hospitals.
