Barriga, August 2012 Olympic Update
It looks like we have something to cheer-for on the on-going London Olympics game after our own boxer, Mark Anthony Barriga, made it to the next round on the Olympic's amateur boxing tournament in London.
Barriga beat his Italian foe in the round of 32 earlier tonight, Philippine time, July 31, 2012.
Barriga lambasted the Italian Manuel Cappai with the score of 17-7, in the 49 kilogram light flyweight division to enter the Round of 16.
Reports said that Barriga's superior hand speed packed with superb footwork gained points against the taller Italian.
Barriga, the shortest fighter in the light flyweight division, came in as the underdog against the taller Cappai.
With the win, the nineteen years old advances to the Round of 16 of the Olympics tournament.
With his speed, Barriga was coined to be the "Little Pacquiao".
