Philippine Weather Update - July 2011

At 2:00 a.m. today, July 9, 2011, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 470 kilometers Northeast of Basco, Batanes (24.2°N, 125.0°E). Monsoon trough across Luzon.

This weather system and Southwest Monsoon are expected to bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Luzon areas becoming widespread rains over its Western section which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

It's really a little weird this week as PAGASA monitored that there is no official typhoon on the entire country, however, despite of this, heavy rains has been experienced throughout the country.

As of now, the next named typhoon, Bagyong Goring, hasn't officially announced yet.

PAGASA warns residents from mountainous and low lying areas for possible flash floods and landslides.
