Maricel Soriano Won Best Actress Award, Snubs MMFF 2011


Maricel Soriano did not attended the 37'th Metro Manila Film Festival - MMFF 2011, despite being a candidate of the Best Actress award, which she later won.

Maricel Soriano's movie, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, brought her nother Best Actress trophy which made her the second actress to receive the most number of Best Actress award from Metro Manila Film Festival - MMFF 37'th awarding history, after suprstar Nora Aunor.

However, Maricel Soriano along with the whole cast of the Yesterday Today Tomorrow had boycotted the MMFF 2011 after the MMFF committee had decided to disqualify their movie from the MMFF major awards in four categories namely - Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and the Gatpuno Villegas Cultural awards.

The whole movie cast did not attended the award night to show symphaty to the movie's producer, Mother Lily Monteverde, who got disappointed to the MMFF 2011 committee's decision.

The committee, with Chairman Francis Tolentino had agreed that Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow be disqualified on four major awards categories after the movie's script had undergone major revision.
