Aga Mulach To Run On Congress

Philippine actor Aga Mulach and 63 others sworn as new Liberal party members on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the LP National Headquarter in Cubao, LP spokesperson House Deputy Speaker Erin Tañada said Thursday.

"The entrance of new members strengthens the party. Lalong magpapalakas sa ating national candidates," Tañada noted. "The President [Benigno Aquino III] wants [his administration’s] program [of government] to continue beyond 2013," - the LP spokesperson said on an interview.

The new LP members sworn before Liberal party President and current DOTC Secretary Mar Roxa II.

The event took place nine months before the mid-term election on May of next year.

Though Tañada did not mentioned any specific regarding Aga Mulach's candidacy, it was rumored that the actor-host will run as a congressman in Camarines Sur. It can be recalled that Mulach with her wife Charlene Gonzales registered as voters in Camarines Sur, Bicol.

"Masayang masaya ako na makasama ko sila. My family's from there, my lola, my dad. Sabi ko nga may pangalan naman akong inayos, na hindi ko naman sisirain talaga. All I want to do is to prove to them also na mayroon talagang pwedeng gawin doon," - Aga Muhlach on the press last Wednesday night.

His wife, Charlene, made an statement on her entertainment show on abs-cbn The Buzz which said that her husband dreams to serve to the Filipino people.

On the side note, Richard Gomez who also made an official announcement that he will run as Mayor of Ormoc City said that he will support his showbiz friend, Aga Mulach, should he decides to run.

On the event, sixteen board members, fourteen municipal mayors, three vice mayors and a number of community leaders from the provinces of Sorsogon, Ilocos Sur, Southern Leyte, Quirino, North Cotabato, and Bataan, and Makati City, had taken their oath.

After the recruits, Liberal Party now has thirty seven governors and eighty eight congressman in total.

It looks like LP was so fast in taking Mulach first, well after all, he's not taken.

"First of all, Aga doesn't belong to any political party. This is the first party he is joining," - the Liberal Party spokesperson said.
