Being a guerilla blogger, I usually search for hot trending search terms. The main tools that I am using are the Google Search Trends and Yahoo! Search Trends, it seems that Bing does not created its own version (hey, don't expect).There is just one thing that is bothering me, if you go to Google Search Trends, it shows you the trending search terms for a specific days as you can change the date as far backwards as you want. But the problem is there is no option that a user can change country specific hot trends as it seems to be fixed on USA.
Then I notice that the url of Google Search Trends page is google.com/trends, so I thought would it give my country's top search trends if I appended "/trends" on Google's address for my country which is google.com.ph, this will then make it as - google.com.ph/trends.
The page did came up, but unfortunately the hot trend result still shows USA. So I tried search for other country's two letter code and tried some of them. Some confirmed my theory but it seems that it only works on some countries, I haven't tried all of the country of course as I do not have the time, but here are the countries that works so far.
Google India – http://www.google.co.in/trends
Google UK – http://www.google.co.uk/trends
Google China – http://www.google.cn/trends
Google Japan – http://www.google.co.jp/trends
Other than the example above, using other countries will just redirected you to USA trend result.
Have you tried doing this too? If so, have you find other country that works with the tweak? Please add it on the comment below if you do.
