Robinson Galleria at Ortigas City had been robbed earlier today. Reports said that the robbers who are in riding-in-tandem forcibly entered the mall before 10am, prior to the mall's operating hours.
One security guard died in the shootout, identified as Rodrigo Villa, while the other guard, Roderick Reloso is still on the critical condition while five others including bank tellers and bystanders were rushed to the hospital.
Quezon City Police District Chief SUperintendent Mario Dela Vegan said that the robbers attacked the mall armed with guns and two grenades.
Rose Ann Villegas of Robinson Galleria Mall Public Affairs Division said that two security guards from the PS Bank were supposed to deliver money to Sanry's Money Exchange when robbers attacked the mall. This is one of the lead story that the investigators has been eyeing.
The police however is still verifying if the said money had been taken by the holdapers.
"We do not know yet if the money was consummated and how much. The bank teller can tell us," said Dela Vega on a quick interview.
Police and mall authorities closed the mall from the public but normal mall operations was resumed by noon, the crime scene was remained off limits as investigations are still on-going.
"I think our security measures are very strong right now. We were able to respond in 15 minutes," - the Quezon City police chief said.
