August 1, 2012 Suspension Of Classes - PAGASA, DepEd


Classes are still suspended today, August 1, 2012, from various municipality nationwide after the full pledge typhoon Gener causes floods, landslides and heavy rains.

PAGASA earlier today announced on their weather bulletin that Bagyong Gener is still inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and still poses threat especially to the northern Luzon.

Meanwhile, the guideline below for the suspension of classes is still in effect according to Department of Education (DepEd).

Signal Number One = Classes on pre-school level is suspended
Signal Number Two = Classes on pre-school, to both elementary and secondary level are suspended
Signal Number Three = All school levels' classes are suspended

Also, the Depeartment of Education had given parents the full discretion whether they will allow their kids to go to school on any rainy day cases.

UPDATE:
At 4:00 am today, August 1, 2012, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the eye of Typhoon "GENER" was located based on satellite and surface data at 270 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes (22.6°N, 123.7°E). Maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move North at 7 kph. Meanwhile, a low pressure area (LPA) was estimated at 270 kilometers Northwest of Laoag City (20.4°N, 118.5°E).
