At 2 p.m. today, June 20, 2012, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Tropical Storm "CARINA" was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 420 kilometers north northwest of Basco, Batanes (23.7°N, 119.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is forecast to move northeast at 30 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 750 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas (11.0°N, 133.5°E). Southwest monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon.
