Dolphy was rushed to the hospital last Saturday, June 9, 2012.

The King of Philippine Comedy was rushed and admitted to the Makati Medical Center on Saturday morning, according to reports.

Though admitted on the hospital for a round the clock monitoring, Eric Quizon said that his father's vitals are all in order, though added that he is still under intensive care.

"My Dad was sent to the hospital last Saturday because of pneumonia. This made him weak because of his chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). They had to attach a respirator in order to help him breathe." - Eric Quizon said on an interview.

"Currently, his vitals are all in order and he is responding to treatment very well. However, he is still under close observation and round-the-clock intensive care to make sure he recovers well," - Eric added.

Eric Quizon also thanked the people who continuing to pray for his father's well-being.

"On behalf of our family, thank you for your love and prayers," - the director said.

Dolphy will turn 85 on July 25.
