Dante Enters Philippines, June 2013

A new Low Pressure Area (LPA) enters Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

At 4:00 p.m. today, June 7, 2013, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 590 kilometers Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (15.3°N, 130.°E). It is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao.

Should this low pressure area becomes stronger, it will be named Dante - Bagyong Dante as scheduled on 2013 names of Philippine typhoon.

Meanwhile, the weather news bureau said that the start of the year's rainy season will begin should a five days consecutive rain had been experienced anywhere on the country.
