Philippine Universities Included In Top 300 Schools In Asia, 2013

Education network Quacquarelli Symmonds 2013 University Rankings had included at least five Philippine universities on its list of Asia’s top 300 educational institution.
The said five PH universities are University of the Philippines (UP), Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), University of Santo Tomas (UST), De La Salle University (DLSU) and University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP).
  1. 67th rank - University of the Philippines (UP)
  2. 109th rank - Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU)
  3. 150th rank - University of Santo Tomas (UST)
  4. 151st-160th - De La Salle University (DLSU)
  5. 251st-300th rank - and University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP)
To get on the list, the education network uses a methodology with nine indicators:
  • Academic reputation from global survey (30%)
  • Employer reputation from global survey (10%)
  • Papers per faculty (15%)
  • Citations per paper (15%)
  • Faculty student ratio (20%)
  • Proportion of international students (2.5%)
  • Proportion of international faculty (2.5%)
  • Proportion of inbound exchange students (2.5%)
  • Proportion of outbound exchange students (2.5%)
