October 2011 - Tropical Storm Ramon, Typhoon Ramon

Typhoon Quiel had appeared so suddenly right after the destructive typhoon Pedring and now had reached to public storm signal warning three.

With this, it is expected that the next tropical storm would enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility, PAR, immediately after Quiel.

This post is a public service post aim to give warnings and updates regarding the next tropical storm or typhoon that would hit our country for this month of October.

The next cyclone that would appear inside PAR would be named as Ramon - Tropical Storm Ramon, Typhoon Ramon or Bagyong Ramon, as scheduled by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration office (PAGASA).

UPDATE: October 2, 2011
According to PAGASA, another low pressure area was spotted and will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this coming week. Under secretary of Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Graciano Yumul, said that tropical depression Ramon will soon enter the PAR.

With this, the already water-saturated soil of the previously affected areas will be vulnerable to sudden floods.

At 2:00 am today, October 3, 2011, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration office (PAGASA), the low pressure area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 530 kilometers Northeast of Visayas (15.2°N 129.4°E) embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

This weather bulletin was released by PAGASA earlier at 5PM:

At 2:00 p.m. today,the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 520 kilometers East Northeast of Southern Luzon (15.3°N 129.4°E) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affeting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

As of today, October 4, 2011, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration office (PAGASA), No tropical cyclone existing within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

At 2:00 p.m. today, October 5, 2011, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration office (PAGASA), the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 560 kilometers East of Visayas (11.0°N, 131.5°E) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

At 4:00 p.m. today, October 10, 2011, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration office (PAGASA), Tropical Depression "RAMON" was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 560 kilometers East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (7.5°N, 131.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center. It is forecast to move West at 15 kilometers per hour.

At 4:00 p.m. today, October 11, 2011, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration office (PAGASA), Tropical Storm "RAMON" was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 180 kilometers East Northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (8.9°N, 127.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center with gustiness of up to 80 kilometers per hour. It is forecast to move Northwest at 17 kilometers per hour.

Bagyong Ramon weakens as it leave Philippines.

At 4:00 pm today, October 13, 2011, Tropical Depression "RAMON" was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 270 kilometers West of Metro Manila (14.3°N 118.3°E) with maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center. It is forecast to move Northwest at 19 kilometers per hour.
