2011 Bar Exam Leakage Was Plain Rumor - SC
The November 2011 Bar Exam Leakage rumor started after Manila Times, a local daily broadsheet, published a report on an alleged leakages un the first-ever multiple choice type questionnaire for the 2011 Bar examination that is currently on-going at the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
It can be recalled that the Bar examination for this year is happening for all Sundays of the current month, November 2011. The first three Sundays will be the multiple choice type examination while the last day, November 27 will be the essay type questions.
According to Manila Times report, a leaked questions appeared in the questionnaire on the first day of the examination, November 6, and last November 20, 2011.
The source of the leakage was even named on the report. A certain Jess Mundo, one of the examiners for this year's Bar examination was pointed t be the source of the alleged leakage. However, reports said that the named Jess Mundo may be reffering to Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Alex Gesmundo, Justice Gesmundo however is not one of the examiners of this year's Bar examination.
The Supreme Court on the other hand tried to close the controversy, saying that leakage rumors has been surfacing every year and that the rumors has been kept baseless every year.
"The alleged leakage reported in a major daily is just plain rumor. Every year, loose talks on 'bar tips' circulate. However, they remain unsubstantiated and without bases," - Jose Midas Marquez, Supreme Court spokesman said in a text message via abs-cbn news report.
There are currently 6,200 law graduates who are taking the Bar exams at the University of Santo Tomas along EspaƱa Boulevard in Manila that were affected with the leakage rumors.
