Update Nokia N8 and E7 To Symbian Anna

Symbian Anna, the new name for the latest operating system for Nokia N8 and Nokia E7 has been rolled out for the Philippine consumer.

The update is about 29 megabytes (29MB) in size which was made available on the Philippines yesterday, August 18, 2011.

If you are using Nokia N8 or Nokia E7 or Nokia X7, you can do the OS update and downloaded OTA through Ovi Suite on a computer or you can do it straight on your phone through the Software Updates while on the WiFi.

So what's new to this new Symbian Anna operating system? Here's what users can expect:

• Improved text input - QWERTY keyboard and split-screen view
• Enhanced Ovi Maps - a simpler and quicker search functionality, public transport routes, check in to the social networks, send emails and SMS messages and sharing your location
• Business features - Email functionality improvements, full meeting request, hardware-accelerated encryption of your phone’s data
• Near-Field Communications - NFC for the Nokia C7 for easy sharing, games, use with NFC-enabled accessories and reading NFC tags on other items
• Better browser - An easier to use and faster, better compliance with recent standards
