Philippine President Benigno PNoy Noynoy Aquino III presented last Tuesday, August 16, 2011, thirteen more priority measures to the members of the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council or LEDAC to be included on the administration's agenda for this year.

It can be recalled that six out of the thirteen measures or the pririty bills had been determined and processed by the Cluster of Cabinet, said executive secretary Paquito N. Ochoa Jr. on a media conference.

"We will assess the progress posted by our common legislative agenda since the time we agreed on a shared set of priorities, as well as the need to deliver on our collective commitment to pass these measures at the soonest possible time," executive sercretary Ochoa said.

About 1.816 trillion Philippine pesos was presented to the congressional leaders by the administration as the spending package for the year 2012 as well as the Philippine Development Plan or PDP to comply to their rythm for the timely passage of the Aquino administration's budget measure.

"We look forward once again to the early passage of the budget so that the government can build on the progress that has already been made," secretary Ochoa added to the media.

Here are some of the thirteen proposed measures by the administration for the LEDAC last August 16, 2011.

  • An Act Amending Republic Act No. 9372 (Human Security Act of 2007)
  • An Act Amending Republic Act No. 7306 (People’s Television Network)
  • An Act Amending Presidential Decree No. 269 (Rural Electrification Program)
  • An Act Restructuring the Excise Tax on Alcohol and Tobacco Products
  • An Act Providing for the Delineation of the Specific Forest Limits of the Public Domain
  • An Act Granting Broader Protection for Consumers
  • Bills on Protecting Individual Personal Data in Information and Communications Systems in the Government and in the Private Sector
  • An Act Reorganizing the Philippine Statistical System
  • An Act Imposing Stiffer Penalties for Stealing or Tampering Government Risk Reduction and Preparedness Equipment, Accessories, and Other Facility Items
  • An Act Providing for Additional Benefits and Protection to the Househelpers
  • An Act Expanding the Coverage of the Science and Technology Scholarship Program
  • An Act Amending Republic Act No. 7279 (Twenty Percent Balanced Housing)
  • Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health, and Population and Development

This was the 112th LEDAC meeting under the Auino administration. The first LEDAC meeting under the Aquino administration was held last February 28, of this year wherein the President presented twenty three priority bills.
