The explosion which was reported to took place around eight in the evening tore off a large chunk of concrete that fell onto the ground. Reports said that ate least two vehicles that happened to just passed by had been damaged by the falling concrete.
Residents of the condominium immediately evacuated the building after hearing the blast.
Rene Boy Curado, one of the unit owners at the sixth floor said that he heard that the explosion came from the fifth floor.
The loud explosion had caused panic among people nearby especially to the mall-goers along Market! Market! after windows of several nearby establishments were damaged because of the blast.
The cause of the explosion had yet to be determined by the autorities while the entire area has been cordoned off by the police and rescue personnels.
Fortunately, no lives were claimed from the blast.
UPDATE:
Reports confirmed that at least three where killed while five others were injured from the blast.
