Luneta Emcee Apologized

The Catholic priest who served as an emcee before and after the mass of Pope Francis at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta last Sunday apologizes during the DzMM interview one day after the Pontiff left the country.

Apparently, Father Hans Magdurulang, which was nicknamed as Luneta Emcee on social media sites, had supposedly destroyed the solemnity of the event after he chanted "Mabuhay si Papa Francisco! Mabuhay ang Santo Papa!" repeatedly and even asked mass attendees to make a human wave. "Gagawin po natin ang Pope Francis Wave!" - Fr. Magdurulang said.

With this, the priest drew flak online after Filipino netizens said that she made the event like a variety show.

Having no facebook and twitter accounts, the priest said that she only saw the netizens' reaction last Monday night.

Father Magdurulang admitted on the interview that he cried after reading the harsh comments, "Ganito pala ma-bash." - the priest said.

"Hindi daw po ako bagay na mag-emcee, masyado daw po akong maingay. Sinira ko daw po 'yung solemnity ng misa. Para daw pong ginawang show, perya, noontime show... nung sinasabi ko po na wagayway, paulit-ulit." - the priest narrated.

"Siyempre po napaisip po ako. Sabi ko mukhang mali po yata 'yung ginawa ko, baka may mali po akong nagawa, nasira ko po 'yung event. Tinanong ko po talaga 'yan sa sarili ko," - he added.

On the said interview, the priest said that he is sincerely sorry to those who felt that he destroyed the solemnity of the papal mass.

"Kung may mga natuwa po sa Luneta, maraming salamat po. Pero kung may mga nadismaya po sa Luneta dahil sa akin, ako po'y taos-pusong humihingi ng tawad po talaga, kung nasira ko po yung pagdiriwang po na sinasabi," - Magdurulang appealed.

Meanwhile, some netizens posted a good reaction regarding to the Luneta emcee's performance on the event.
