Manny Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather Jr. Talks Progressed

The most anticipated fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. was reported to have some significant developments according to a boxing authority involved on the negotiation.

“We’re making progress,” - said the official whom requested to remain anonymous because no one on both camps are allowed to disclose the ongoing negotiation on the public yet.

Confirmed reports said that the Pacquiao and Mayweather camps have already agreed on the venue and the drug testing protocols to be initiated before the fight.
The two camps have agreed to stage the bout at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas, USA.

The drug testing will also be done following the Olympic-style procedures.

With these, the only matters that remain on the table are the purse fight and the fight date.

It can be recalled that Floyd Mayweather himself had already announced that he wants to have Manny Pacquiao on the ring by May 2 of this year. Bob Arum, the Filipino's promoter however objected on the said date because of the Cinco De Mayo weekend. The fighting congressman however previously said that he has no problem with the actual fight date.

On a separate inteview with Freddie Roach, he said that the super fight is very close to become a reality.

“I talked to Bob Arum.... I think I'm getting close to saying it's very close, I think we're very close,” - the Filipino trainer said on an interview.

''It's close. I think I know for a fact that it's closer than ever.'' - the boxing trainer said.

Both parties are going overtime and was reported to wrap up the negotiation within ten days to give ample time for the promotion.
