Netizens Irked Over Airline Closure During Pope's Visit

Many Filipino netizens are irritated on the planned closed traffic on air and on land during the Pope's arrival and departure on the country during his visit this month.

That would mean that there will be no vehicle movements on both land and air spaces to give way for the Pope's visit.

With this, many Pinoy netizens expressed their disagreement on the activity as they planned to clear the airport terminals on January 15, 18 and 19, 2015.
"Pope should have been asked to Land in Clark and Choppered in to Manila ... ah well, what do I know ? it is ok to inconvenience people I guess ... not blaming the pope, considering the plans are drawn up by the Rich folks of Manila who want a piece of the Pope also, ensuring he will land in Manila .." - disquz username mfdo said.

How stupid to inconvenience the traveling public just because the pope comes calling. Mathis is too much! - disqus username Tamarindwalk said.

Earlier on ABS-CBN news program TV Patrol, it was reported that about 35 thousand airline passengers are affected on the cancellation of flights.

If you think that the 35K was big enough to raised some eyebrows, authorities also said that some roads will also be closed.

Flight cancellation means that the flights have been booked by the passengers. Not that we think you do not know what the flight cancellation means, it's just we want to stress out that about 35K people has been affected for this event.

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) attempted to pacify the passengers by announcing that they can rebook their flights without penalty, yeah, how about that.

Meanwhile, disqus username rightist said: "Isumbong ninyo kay Pope ito. Bakit kailangan mag kansela?"
