Bagyong Quiel Updates, Suspension Of Classes


Bagyong Quiel is definitely becamse like bagyong Pedring based on strength and the destructive poser that it imposes.

As of 4AM today, October 1, 2011, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration office (PAGASA), the Eye of Typhoon QUIEL or Bagyong Quiel was located based on radar scans, satellite images and surface data at 160 kilometers East of Casiguran, Aurora(16.8°N 123.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kilometers per hour. It is forecast to move West Southwest at 26 kilometers per hour.

Suspension of classes on different school levels can be determined based on the guidelines released by Department of Education (DepEd).

Public Storm Warning Signal Number 1 = Classes on pre schools are suspended.
Public Storm Warning Signal Number 2 = Classes on both elementary and secondary are suspended, as well as pre schools levels.
Public Storm Warning Signal Number 3 = Classes on tertiary level is suspended, as well as pre school, elementary and secondary levels.

However, authorities said that all schools' officials has all the right to suspend their classes if they observed that serious threats was imposed on their area. Classes can be suspended even though they are outside the public storm warning signal's guideline, especially if they see that floods and damaged roads occurred on their jurisdiction.
