October 2011 Weather Update By PAGASA

According to PAGASA, no tropical cyclone exists within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), however, the entire country, especially the Luzon and Visayas area will continue to experience rain showers and mild thunderstorm because of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Mindanao on the other hand will also experience moderate to cloudy skies.

At 2:00 p.m. today, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration office (PAGASA), the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite images and surface data at 870 kilometers East of Mindanao (8.6°N, 135.0°E) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Luzon and Visayas.
