Fake Photo - Photoshopped, Employee Got Suspended

This has became a popular topic online and offline after it being featured on Yahoo! Philippines home page.

A fake photo of three DPWH top officials was edited, cut-out and literally pasted on a typhoon-destroyed Manila Bay background. While there's nothing serious about this especially seeing celebrity and politician-edited photos that scrammed the internet. But what made this edited photo to become sensational is it was posted on DPWH's official facebook page - yup it does...err did.

The said fake photoshoppped photo of DWPH officials on a Manila Bay background was already removed by the agency's official facebook fan page. The employee who made the edited photo was suspended according to DPWH Undersecretary Romeo Momo.

According to reports, the employee who did the editing thinks that he did a good job with his edited masterpiece, but everything turned out to be the opposite of what he expect. Just when you thought you're doing a praise-deserved initiative - it did not.

Though the said faked photo was already removed on the DPWH official facebook page, a copy was copied by Filipino bloggers to their blogs and that's how the digital copies was kept online.

The three officials in the photoshopped photo were DPWH Metro Manila Regional Director Reynaldo Tagudando, South Manila District Engineer Mikunug Macud and DPWH Undersecretary Romeo Momo who supposedly inspected the damaged seawall along Roxas Boulevard.

DPWH Undersecretary Romeo Momo said that it was posted on their fanpage without their knowledge and permission. According to Usec Momo, they really did inspected the damaged caused by typhoon Pedring and Quiel along Manila Bay but the actual posted photo was not just exactly what happened.

Deep Serious Damages

"This is big damage for me," Momo said. "We became the center of attention. Our picture was played with. We even found ourselves in the Last Supper."

"My children were texting me because they felt ashamed. Even my cousins in the US sent me text messages," the USec Romeo Momo said further.

So what would this be? Sure that the three officials isn't to be blame. It is really the one who edited the said photo that must take all the fault. Suspension, sure he deserves it to give warning to everyone.

But the question is, how long was the suspension for that employee?
Was it really his own action or was it just an instruction given to him? Because it will turn out that he became the fall guy if he was just following orders from his boss.

Also, was the other edited version of the photo was also posted on the official facebook fanpage of DPWH, especially the "last supper" photo?

Below are the other version of the DPWH photo scandal, which we collected online. We cannot give credits to the owners since it was all over the internet, and we are pretty sure that the creator would not be interested to the credits.
