Taal Volcano Planned To Have A Hollywood-like Sign

There is another hype that has been circulating online. The commotion was all about the plan on Taal Volcano Hollywood-like sign.

Before we talk any further, here's the proposed outcome of the Taal Volcano.

Reports said that it was the Batangas Governor and Star for All Season Vilma Santos-Recto who proposed the Hollywood-like signage on Batangas City's most popular landmark.

The "BATANGAS" sign according to reports will have the same font style from the Hollywood singage in California, USA. According to Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste II, the Batangas provincial council had already approved the proposal last October 5 of this year where they see it as a potential tourism magnet for their town.

According to the plan, the "BATANGAS" will be made in an all caps letter and will stand 14 meters tall and 110 meters wide which will sit on the Taal Volcano's countour.

However, after the news became popular among Filipino nitizens on networking sites like facebook and twitter, the Batangas officials had geared back and said that the resolution was not finalized yet and that no budget was allocated yet.

It appears that many environmental concern nitizens got worried on the possible exploitation of the natural resources on the Taal Volcano. With this note, a provincial officer on the environmental and natural resources that everything was not yet final. The area superintendent of the Taal Vlocano Protected Landscape told the media that the Protected Area management Board or PAMB needs to assure if the planned sinage will mess the natural resources of the perimiter before it can be approved by them.

Earlier tonight, Governor Vilma Santos-Recto told to an interview that everything was really just a plan.

“Masyadong nagkaroon ng over-reaction at exaggeration, that’s still up for studies. Suhestiyon lang yan as part of Tourism program. Definitely ito’y enhancement. Yun ay pagpapakilala lamang na you are in Batangas now and that Taal is a landmark. Slogan namin ‘It’s all here, and it’s so near,’ our primary intention is to increase job opportunities and enhance livelihood for the people living around Taal. It was a suggestion, we’re not even sure if we’re allowed to build anything there, so I reiterate, this is still in the process of studying, of consultation, nothing is final. Puwedeng matuloy, puwedeng hindi.”
